About DeGuzman & Halm Nursing Innovations
We understand the realities of nursing practice — and how evidence, innovation, and strategy translate into outcomes in real clinical environments.
With over 40 years of combined leadership in nursing practice, research, and implementation, Dr. Pam DeGuzman and Dr. Margo Halm bring a strategic, evidence-informed approach to helping nurse executives and Magnet® teams translate ideas into practice. Their work centers on evidence-based practice (EBP), innovation, and outcomes improvement — grounded in a clear understanding of the operational and leadership contexts in which nursing work actually occurs.
DeGuzman & Halm partner with organizations across the Magnet® and Pathways to Excellence® continuum to strengthen EBP capacity, guide innovation initiatives, and support scholarly work that demonstrates meaningful impact in practice.
Our experience includes:
Leadership in nursing practice, research, and implementation science
EBP capacity building and scholarly dissemination
Outcomes-focused evidence-based practice (EBP) and innovation initiatives
Aligning innovation efforts with operational and leadership realities
Magnet® New Knowledge, Innovations, and Improvements

Our Services
We partner with nursing leaders to enhance outcomes by aligning evidence, innovation, research, and leadership capability with the realities of clinical practice. Our work is grounded in real-world nursing environments and focused on results that are measurable, credible, and sustainable.
Enhancing Outcomes Through Evidence-Based Practice & Implementation
Strengthen evidence-based practice by focusing on implementation that works in real clinical environments—producing measurable improvements in care and meeting Magnet® expectations.
This work supports organizations seeking to move beyond activity-based EBP toward well-designed, well-executed practice changes that demonstrate clear outcomes, scalability, and impact in practice.
Enhancing Outcomes Through Nursing Research
Design, execute, and interpret high quality nursing research that is rigorous, feasible, and aligned with organizational priorities.
We help organizations generate credible evidence that informs decision-making, supports accountability, and strengthens scholarly and professional standing.
Enhancing Outcomes Through Education & Capacity Building
Build internal capability so leaders and teams can sustain evidence-informed practice, innovation, and outcomes over time.
Our education and coaching are designed to strengthen judgment, skills, and systems—not to deliver one-off training—so organizations become less dependent on external support.
Engagement Options
Our consulting engagements are flexible and modular. Organizations may start with targeted support or build into broader partnerships based on goals, timelines, and readiness.
We partner with nursing leaders in ways that are practical, strategic, and grounded in real clinical environments. Our approach reflects deep experience in practice, research, and leadership—and a clear focus on outcomes that matter.

When evidence-based practice is dismissed as “too academic,” organizations risk wasted effort, unnecessary costs, and avoidable patient harm. Developing nurse leaders who can critically evaluate and apply evidence is essential to achieving sustained quality and safety outcomes.
